see for me the planning part can be just as fun as the actual trip!
I agree with that Kelda. I am typically very prepared by the time I leave. Well except for the Alberta trip and or course I never left for that one anyway. Anyway when I get to the place I am still a bit disoriented, but at least I kind of know where I am. I have said this before I'm sure, but as far as cities go, if they have the double decker Grayline type tours........take them!!! I have not been disappointed yet. In both New York and Chicago I learned more about the cities as well as where things were than many of the citizens probably know. In Chicago, I also took the river ride and the lake ride which I would also highly recommend. I have gotten a ticket each time I have been to New York for them since they are such a good price at the hotel. They are actually a GREAT way to get around to places. I discovered these through pre planning and I also discovered the airport shuttles this way. They are much cheaper than a taxi. I have used the shuttles each time in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
