Thank you. Tell you what, I was looking at all those lovely pictures of crayons that friends posted to wish you a happy birthday, and it just reminded me of how it feels when you're a kid and you get a brand new box of crayons. There they are in the box, all pristine and waiting to be used, and the possibilities just seem limitless.

Reminded me in particular of how felt once when I was given a great big box of Crayolas. I think there were 64 crayons in the box, including the famous Burnt Sienna, which always seemed to have a grainy texture to it when you moved it over the paper. Maybe there were even more than 64 crayons. I just remember a large, flat, rectangular box, with the crayons all laid out next to each other in one row. Good memories.

I didn't hear any bluebirds, but I did go out to dinner with my sons last night and had a Manhattan, if that counts.

Yes, for my first time since the olden days. It seemed about as safe as an indoor thing could be in these times. There were maybe 10-15 occupied tables, all at least six feet apart, with plexiglass sheets between them. Any interactions with the waitress were conducted through masks. When a party leaves they sanitize the table, according to their websites.

I've been in seemingly far germier situations at the grocery store. Getting closer than six feet, breathing the same air, touching the same objects. I've definitely been in far germier situations for work, albeit almost all outdoors.

Still, I'm not going to make restaurants a frequent habit.
