Why thank you, dear FRiend! That's lovely!

I like that my nickname is serious, because when somebody says something nice it's like they're saying "seriously" as reassurance of their sincerity. Like, "Happy birthday, and I ain't foolin'!"

Well look at you throwing a Brokieism in there so effortlessly!  :-*

Thank you, Chrissi! I thought of you recently as I realized we're going into our next 6-month Shorter Days/Longer Days cycle.  :)

Happy belated birthday, Katherine!

Thank you, Sonja, and no problem -- I'm still accepting birthday wishes through the end of the week.

I didn't hear any bluebirds, but I did go out to dinner with my sons last night and had a Manhattan, if that counts.

Hmm. How 'bout a Manhattan spring?

You actually ate in a restaurant?  :o

Yes, for my first time since the olden days. It seemed about as safe as an indoor thing could be in these times. There were maybe 10-15 occupied tables, all at least six feet apart, with plexiglass sheets between them. Any interactions with the waitress were conducted through masks. When a party leaves they sanitize the table, according to their websites.

I've been in seemingly far germier situations at the grocery store. Getting closer than six feet, breathing the same air, touching the same objects. I've definitely been in far germier situations for work, albeit almost all outdoors.

Still, I'm not going to make restaurants a frequent habit.
