Cody sometimes brings in a dead fish from the creek. He drops it at my feet. Then he looks at me like "well... what are you going to do with it?" smiling and all proud of himself.

Dead fish and mice. I guess they are trying to reward me in their own way. Perhaps it's some sort of compliment.

Code caught a mouse once in the house. I thought it was one of his toys until I realized it had a real mouse tail. He brought it from the corner, carried it in his mouth to the kitchen, and released it. It ran incredibly fast back to wherever he found it. He looked for it, but apparently it must have got back out however it got in. It never appeared again and no other mouse has ever appeared either. I think the mouse must have gone and told all of his mouse friends that this was not a good place to visit. He probably said there was a huge black monster with sharp claws and sharp teeth that would eat them all up if they entered.

Aww! Poor Code! He was trying to help!

I'm just kidding. I really do think they do this in an effort to award us or praise us. It's kind of sweet in it's own way, isn't it?
