This is the place to put your questions or comments regarding the performance of Brokeback Mountain in Smileys.   :)

This is also the place to give us tips on how to make our performance even more brilliant!  ;D  8)

Great idea Meryl!

We did something similar in a far more modest and simple format on the dot-thread a while ago. We played only a few scenes, but it was fun (see my signature, I liked this smiley so much I kept it).

Your first post is awesome.  8)

Shall we have a list of scenes posted here?  Does the PT have scene lists stretching all the way back to the beginning?

Maybe people could even collaborate on scenes they are working on, maybe through PM.  The cool thing is it wouldn't have to be static, people could even go back and improve their posts of certain scenes if perfect smileys pop up.

Such a beautiful idea.  I may not be able to work on it much yet, but look forward to contributing.

Thanks for your words, Elle and Chrissi!   :-*

I love the idea of folks collaborating on their replies, Clarissa.  The main thing is to have posts that are meaningful, surprising and fun, so the more minds at work, the better!  8)

Regarding a list of scenes, I'm open to suggestions.  However, we probably all have the DVD and can check it for the details as we go along.  Perhaps it might help if each poster says at the end of their post what should happen next, so that the next person can pick up there and go as far as they wish before handing it over.  I'll add that to the guidelines now.  :)

I couldn't see it either until...

Right click on the red x, click and copy properties url, paste into the address bar, click go and get the picture by itself, click back.

When I did that -- the picture showed up just fine. Try that, maybe it will work.

These are really cute and creative! I love to see them.

That brings up a very good point - if we take a moment to save the images we use to our own accounts, then this thread will last for posterity.  Everytime we hotlink, we run the risk of losing that image irretrievably.  It just takes a few minutes looking through image-intensive threads here in CT to see how unsatisfying that can wind up being in just a few months.

I suppose someone with mod techno-powers could go through and save any images that are only hot-linked, if someone wanted to do that.

I love what you all are doing.  But I dont have a lot of emots.  The only ones I have, I pretty much
stole from other people.  Are we supposed to do each scene ourself, or is it a group effort..maybe I could do some, if i get the hang of it better..You know me.  I just jump in with all fours sometimes and mess
it up...janice

Thanks, Janice!  You're welcome to collaborate with anyone on any of the scenes coming up via PM.  And if you follow the links in the first post, you'll find all sorts of smileys.  You just have to click on the images and save them to your computer.  After I do that, I upload them to my Photobucket file.  That way they won't be lost if the original smiley site goes down.

I find I need to fill in with punctuation and pictures that I find on Google Images, which I resize to make them smaller and more like smileys.  Gradually, I'm learning to do effects like text overlay and color manipulation.  You can dpwnload a free program at PAINT.net that's pretty easy to use.  Let me know if I can help.  :D

I am so impressed with the posts this weekend.  And Chuck is on board, too!  Yay!  8)

I love the bacon, eggs and coffee (what, no beans?!), Jack shooting at the coyote and cussing, those two little mules following the little riding cowboy, and the food trail they left!  Great going, everyone!  8)

If you can, remember to edit the subject line of your posts so we know what section you're creating.  And like Elle suggested above, it would be great if you used smileys that you've put on a server like photobucket or divshare rather than hotlinking them.  That way they'll always be there and not disappear if the smiley site goes down.  :)

Ah, more economy and brilliance from Chuck and dot have taken us up to the famous Rodeo Dance scene---a major challenge because so much is discussed.  Don't be afraid to split it up a bit, folks.

Dot, I love the newly scenic camp and the little beans can added to breakfast!  Chuck, is that last smiley meant to be Jack trying not to peek at Ennis warshing?  ;D

WOW, what a bonanza of posts today!  Chuck, I don't know where you found it, but this one had me ROFL:  .  You got your point across!  ;D

Welcome to the show, Janice!  Great work!!  8)

Susiebell, your brilliance is undeniable!  I knew exactly what all of those things meant, and I adore how detailed you made it.  Loved the harmonica and the Pentecost explanations!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Janice, thanks for adding more smileys to the Emoticons and Smileys thread.  Everyone can go here to check them out: http://bettermost.net/forum/index.php/topic,9508.msg296693.html#msg296693

And Dottie's poor Uncle Harold:

I love how Susiebell expressed Ennis's thought processes on whether or not to go to the sheep in the lightning storm.  ;D

Also, Janice's freeform expressiveness of the same storm, winding up with the Chilean situation.  8)

Aw, Dot, you outdid yourself on this one.  Poor Ennis, to go from this to this !!      :'(

The cowboy with the lasso is beautiful, too.  Thanks!  :-*

Janice, the trip down the mountain is great, too.  I have a yen to see more, though, like their conversation about the Army getting Jack, or Ennis saying he and Alma are getting married, etc.  Don't be shy about putting in more details.  We can't get enough of them!  :-*

Edit: I see Dot took up the baton and ran with it!  Thanks, dearie; you and Janice make a great team!  8)

Happy New Year, smiley savants!  It's been very quiet on the BBM Told in Smileys thread, but that's understandable, since everyone's got holiday madness to contend with.  A big thanks to Chuck for his brilliant Jack and Jimbo scene and to Dottie for her epic Fourth of July.  8)

I'll be away at my brother's in Indiana for a week, starting Thursday.  I may try to post something from there, but I won't have all my smiley links at my fingertips.  In the meantime, I hope to see more brilliance from the lot of you.  Jack must meet Lureen!  ;D

P.S. - Remember, if you want to comment on the smiley scenes, this is the best place to do it.  It'll keep the story thread easier to read.  And do feel free to chat more here.  Sometimes I feel like the only cheerleader at the game!  ;)  :)

Well I posted the last one and I was hoping someone else would pick up the challenge of Jack and Lureen meeting but, most of my company's gone home now so I thought I would give it a go and hopefully someone else will come play along soon but about half way through building my rodeo love scene my computer dumped the whole thing...Oh well someone else is meant to do this one.
