Happy Sunday to everyone!
I hope folks who celebrated Thanksgiving had a great holiday and possibly a four day weekend. The only side benefit to having an earlier Thanksgiving is that we have a bit more time to accomplish everything that the holiday season craziness requires. Folks here are starting to hunt for fresh Christmas trees. The severe drought situation in the southeastern United States has created some serious shortages of quality trees for those east of the Mississippi. Trees available tend to be regionally grown to keep shipping costs down, so the trees on the west coast often come from the Pacific Northwest states and parts of the mountain west. On the east coast, most trees come from the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee, all impacted by the very dry weather during 2007. So shop early, and remember to post your photos of your tree in the BetterMost Holiday forum!
This weekend, John celebrated his birthday and sends his thanks for the kind birthday wishes he has received from so many of you. Other than spending last evening at his parent's house for the occasion, we've been spending our time finishing the preparation to launch the new Male Imagery site, which our Sheriff Roland will continue to run. We received our license for the image gallery software and the installation work is going on as I write this. Watch later today for an update!
We are also going to be reviewing some of our written content to get us in better compliance with our very-important advertiser restrictions on certain content here. In short, Google requires us to avoid overly explicit sexual content or pornography on BetterMost. In reality, this policy has always been subjectively interpreted by Google based on a matter of degree, but it's important for us to make some reasonable efforts to not threaten our relationship with our advertisers which help keep this site going. Moderators may contact some residents to request they cut and paste their content to an offsite server (DivShare, LiveJournal, or any other external site) and then edit the existing message to provide a simple link along with the usual content advisory. This means interested parties can continue to access the content, just not in a way that creates a potential problem for us.
We thank you for your understanding why this is an important issue for us and the site as a whole.
Now, I'm out the door for the afternoon to rake yet more leaves before another rainstorm comes in tomorrow!
