Yup! I was a disco dancer back in the 1970's. I was pretty good too! For several years disco was all the rage here in Indianapolis. Everybody was listening to it. And then one morning I woke up and turned on my radio, and they were telling us to smash our disco records. It was over. Just like that. Why? I never did understand it.

I still love disco. Maybe this is because I'm sentimental. Maybe it's because I'm gay. I really don't know. But I enjoy it and I will continue to listen to it, sans the dancing..... well, maybe every once in awhile, when nobody is looking!

This song is one of my favorites. I'm sure all of you are familiar with it. It's one of those wonderful 70s sounds that for most of us who grew up during that era will never forget; whether we want to or not!  ;)

More Than A Woman by Bee Gees. (1976)

Hey there, David - thanks for Styx - Come Sail Away - I loved that one.  How about Robert John's Sad Eyes?  I remember watching my older cousin Kim getting ready for dates, listening to this, wondering when I'd be old enough to wear makeup and date too... ::)

Okay. One more disco song and then I PROMISE I will stop.

Most of us could sing this next one in our sleep. But just in case you don't know the words, the person who uploaded this video was kind enough to include the lyrics. This is in a slide show format, and it loads quickly for dial-up users.  :D

Stayin' Alive by Bee Gees. (1977)

Who can think about their childhood during the 60s and 70s without mentioning Elvis?

Awww.....  :-*

I caught my Mom and Dad one night dancing to Suspicious Minds in the living room. I was about 11 years old. They thought I was in bed, but I wasn't! I never told them about it. It was the sweetest thing I'd ever seen in my life. So, that is my memory of this song.

Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley (1969)

Melissa, I'm having trouble loading those videos. I'm on dial-up, so maybe I have a bad connection. I've tried twice. I'll try again in a few minutes. I'd love to watch them. They look very cute. Thanks for posting them in here!! :)

Gary, I'll try to watch your new videos too. Maybe if I log off and reboot I'll have better luck.

Chicago's "If You Leave Me Now" from 1977.

Everytime I listen to this song, it invokes memories of me laying on my bed, florescent posters glowing from my blacklights, incense (sandlewood of course) filling the air and strobe lights flashing as I listened to the smooth strains of this song.

WOW!!!

Another fast load for dial-up users. Only a splash screen in this video.

That is a GREAT song!!! I still love it. It brings back a lot of memories.

For whatever the song "If You Leave Me Now" made me think of this song.
