Remembering Heath....Some thoughts to ponder....
« on: February 29, 2008, 07:13:42 pm »
Following are the words to a song that says a lot about how we should never take anyone in our lives for granted....whether they be family, close friends, or even celebrities that have shared a part of their lives with us.

"If I had only known it was our last walk in the rain
I'd keep you out for hours in the storm
I would hold your hand, like a lifeline to my heart
And underneath the thunder we'd be warm
If I had only known it was our last walk in the rain

If I had only known I'd never hear your voice again
I'd memorize each thing you ever said
And on these lonely nights, I could think of them once more
And keep your words alive inside my head
If I had only known I'd never hear your voice again

You were the treasure in my heart
You were the one who always stood beside me
So unaware, I foolishly believed that you would always be there
But then there came a day when I closed my eyes
And you slipped away

If I had only known it was my last night by your side
I'd pray a miracle would stop the dawn
And when you smiled at me, I would look into your eyes
And make sure you know my love for you goes on and on
If I had only known

The love I would've shown
If I had only known"

                                       -- Jana Stanfield

This song was originally recorded be Reba McIntire in remembrance of band members who were killed in a plane crash, and was featured in the movie 8 Seconds which was the story of world champion bullrider, the late Lane Frost.

I think these words help us to appreciate even more, what we have lost.  Heath will always be with us on film, and we will never forget the excellent actor that he was, and more importantly, the genuine, human being that he showed himself to be.

Thanks for the opportunity to share this with y'all.

Here here.
lovely and very poignant words.

It also reminds us to try and treaure every moment with all our loved ones.
I will not let my kids go on the school bus,to sleep,to friends wherever, untill we have said I love you.It has become so ingrained in them that even if there has been an argument in the car to the bus, they dont get out tll we've said the words.

I would crumble if I lost someone I loved, but I dont want complete melt down beacause the last words said were in anger,Believe me we are no saints. and sometimes I love you is almost said through clenched teeth, but it;s said.
Thanks for the post.
