Sorry I cant do you tube, so I'll just write the lyrics.

One of the saddest country songs, I've ever heard, by George Jones.......

HE STOPPED LOVING HER TODAY

He said I'll love you 'til I die
she told him you'll forget in time
And as the years went slowly by
she still preyed upon his mind
He kept her picture on his wall
went half crazy now and then
he still loved her through it all
Hoping she'd come back again

Kept some letters by his bed
Dated 1962
He had underlined in red
every single I Love You

I went to see him just today
Oh, but I didn't see no tears
All dressed up to go away
First time I'd seen him smile in years

Chorus:

He Stopped loving her today
they placed a wreath upon his door
and soon they'll carry him away
He stopped loving her today

Spoken:
You know, she came to see him one last time
Ohh, and we all wondered if she would
and it kept running through my mind
this time, he's over her for good

Repeat Chorus

And soon they'll carry him away
He stopped loving her today

Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.

It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfection

Time to work on this thread some  ;D

Here is another one of my favorite country songs

How Forever Feels by Kenny Chesney

Big orange ball, sinkin' in the water.
Toes in the sand, couldn't get much hotter.
Little umbrella shaped margaritas
Coconut oil, tan senioritas
Now I know how Jimmy Buffet feels.

Hands on the wheel, cruisin' down the interstate
Gas pedal sticks, carries my car away
I was going fast as a Rambler goes
I could feel the speed from my head to my toes
Now I know how Richard Petty feels

I've been around the block a time or two
Done almost everything a boy can do
I've done some livin', yeah I've had fun
But there is one thing that I haven't done

Saved two months, bought a little diamond
Tonights the night, feels like perfect timin'
Down on one knee on momma's front steps,
Man I'm gonna die if she really says yes

I wanna know how forever feels

I've been around the block a time or two
Done almost everything a boy can do
I've done some livin', yeah I've had fun
But there is one thing that I haven't done

I wanna know how forever feels
Hey, I wanna know how forever feels
Girl, I wanna know how forever feels

And another one of my favorites

Remember When by Alan Jackson

Remember when I was young so were you
time stood still love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
made love and then you cried
Remember when
Remember when we vowed the vows walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when

Remember when old ones died new were born
life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
broke each other's hearts
Remember when

Remember when the sound of little feet was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when

Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookin' back, it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are, where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when

Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when

Remember when
Remember when

Jose Cuervo

Oh, it's Sunday morning and the sun is shining
In my eye that is open, and my head is spinning.
Was the life of the party; I can't stop grinning,
I had too much tequila last night.

Chorus:
Jose Cuervo, you are a friend of mine.
I like to drink you with a little salt and lime,
Did I kiss all the cowboys, did I shoot out the lights,
did I dance on the bar, did I start any fights.

Now wait a minute, things don't look too familiar,
And who is this cowboy sleepin' beside me?
he's awful cute, but how'd I get his shirt on?
I had too much tequila last night.

[Chorus]

Oh, those little shooters, how I love to drink them down
C'mon, bartender, let's have another round
Well the music's playing and my spirits are high
Tomorrow might be painful, but tonight I'm gonna fly.

Chorus:
Jose Cuervo, you are a friend of mine.
I like to drink you with a little salt and lime
Every time we get together, we sure have a good time,
You're my friend, you're the best, mi ami-go

Chorus:

Hey -- my cousin taught school in Nashville where John Carter Cash went and his son and John Carter made a video. He also went to NY with them to some celebrations about the Statue of Liberty.

I can't get that video -- or any video -- to work yesterday or today. Don't know if it's my computer or if it's YouTube.

I went to a ballgame in Dyess, AR, a few years ago and Johnny was on the composite graduation picture! I think he was born in ARkansas.  ;D

I miss him and June being around.  :(

I seem to be hitting Arkansas with you a lot lately after Black Oak Arkansas  ;D I didn't know that about Johnny and June. I miss them being around too. You know their house in Tennessee where they lived for many, many years burnt down? That was so sad.

That's okay!  :D I love Arkansas.

Yes. Johnny was born in AR.

Johnny Cash was born J. R. Cash in Kingsland, Arkansas, to Ray and Carrie Cash, and raised in Dyess, Arkansas.

There is a sad story about his older brother dying in this article too. It was mentioned in the movie Walk the Line.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Cash

Dyess is about 40 miles from where I live.

June was born in Virginia.

Jack, I think I remember hearing about that house burning. Was it empty at the time, I wonder?

Here is an article about the house. It says BeeGee Barry Gibb was renovating it. That is sad. Looks like a great house. It also looks like it's out in the woods -- probably far away from a fire station.

Thanks for posting the article. I know when I saw it on the news it seemed so strange. It truly was almost as if the house, so full of history, could never be anyone's but Johnny and June's. The video for the song "Hurt" was filmed there which has to be one of the most haunting songs and videos I have ever heard or seen. It was apparent that Johnny would not be around much longer and you can see in June's eyes that she feels the same. But then in the end she actually died first, then him, and then not too long after the house they had lived in so long burned to the ground.
