As part of the ongoing purpose of BetterMost, to help people move beyond the film itself and to make positive changes in one's life, I introduce Tips for Living The Power of Words - Today's Affirmations (the new name is more descriptive), which I will try and update each day or so with short, positive affirmations. In addition to making them a news item which you can see on the home page of the forum, I'll also post them here. What I've heard suggested from more than one authority on matters of the mind is that especially meaningful affirmations should be jotted down on a 3x5 index card and put in a place where you will see it often. The theory goes that the more you see and read and repeat it, the more impact it can have.
For those on the journey towards change and improvement, let's not forget our goals. If you're new, this means making a list of things that Brokeback Mountain brought up inside of you. Figure out which of these can be managed by making a course correction in life (particularly lost opportunities), prioritize them in order of importance to you, and feel free to share them here on BetterMost in the Our Daily Thoughts forum, and with all of our support, we'll move forward on them together.
