Howdy to all fellow Brokies and Tremblayans:
I'm heading west this evening, to Kerrville, Texas, to be with relatives for the Memorial Day weekend. My sister Cathy and I will be driving from home to this small city nestled in the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country, in my opinion the loveliest part of the state--it's about a two-hour drive, heading southwest. We will be heading deep into ranching country, and as this will be my first visit to Kerrville since seeing
Brokeback Mountain, I suspect Ennis and Jack will be strong in my heart during this foray. I will be a little bit further west, a little bit closer to you lucky Bay Areans with your BBM-friendly Castro venue
, and a little bit closer to Wyoming and its mythical mirage called Brokeback Mountain. With this trip, I think on Rufus Wainwright's lyrics: "One more chain I break/To get me closer to you..."
From deep in cowboy country, I salute all you lovely folks, and wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.
Jack and Ennis, "together in Eternity..."
Scott
