A: Ostensibly to express his disgust with Ennis and his ilk. But, really, to dispose of the cherry pit from the cake!

A:  Because Cassie hauled Carl to Vegas for a quickie wedding (by plane)!  She wadn't getting anywhere with Ennis.

A: The teacher held it as hostage. Jack went by at the school on his way out of town because he feared Lureen would forget about it (which of course she would not have). After agreeing to get a tutor for Bobby and promising to reduce his complaining he got it back.
