;D  76% (Dixie).

My favorite Q/A like this was:

"What do you call the clothing that men wear to swim in?"   Thong

Still makes me giggle.

I didnt' see that question!!

59% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

Being German and having learned British English, I have no idea why ::).
But it was fun nonetheless ;D.

My guess would be that both the South and New England are closer to the British than are the Middle Atlantic States.

I'm still suprised that, apparently, there are places where they use a particular brand name as the generic term for "soft drink."

the south and specifically Texas....anything carbonated is a Coke...even if it is a Pepsi. So if you are down here visiting and someone askes "Do you want a Coke?" dont' be surprised if they say "We got Dr Pepper and Sprite which one you want?"

Taht is so true. Everything is coke!
What kind of coke do ya want? I'll have a sprite, orange etc.
I remember my first trip to Chicago when I was in college. I went to a McDonalds and the lady asked me what kind of "pop" I wanted. I had no idea what she was talking about!

When I was little still in NJ, I remember all soda was called coke there too.  Same thing, if you ordered a coke they said what kind?

Well, of course everything would be Coke in Atlanta! Don't they shoot you if you ask for Pepsi?

Well, we try to curtail any aggression against those who are not enlightened in the ways of southern etiquette!  ;D
