I voted for the Sextant used aboard a ship......mainly because in the 1600's when it was made, that was probably something that they needed and used more than anything else on the list.

I'm guessing Shadow Lamp For Simulating Lunar and Solar Eclipses.

Fingers crossed, but I'm not feeling very optimistic about winning a lamb this time.  :-\

What do you think it is, Jess? I'm stumped!  :(

A SUN DIAL!!!!!!

It is a multi-faced or polyhedral sundial, with 29 gnomons (the parts that cast shadows). But it seems this device demonstrates the craftman's interest in solving intricate puzzles, rather than any practical application of his knowledge.




So there you have it! It looks like nobody won a lamb from Ennis and Jack this time around either!  >:(   >:(
