The main guy on a baseball

Where King Kelly signed,
where Cap Anson signed, where Hoss
 Radbourne, Hoy, once signed

Where Honus Wagner signed,
where Christy Mathewson, Babe
 Ruth, Lou Gehrig signed

Where Ted Williasms signed,
and Koufax,Jackie and Mays--
that's called the Sweet Spot.

Belgianboy, LiveJournal, "Initiation"--coincidence discovered yesterday:

"Ennis is not used to relaxing this muscle. It’s not there to be relaxed, he thinks. At least not for something going in.

'Ya gotta relax back there so we can find that sweet spot, huh?'"

Where Monte Sheldon has painted Hoss Radbourn's name is ALWAYS called the "sweet spot,"--the narrow strip across from the stamped  manufacturer's mark on any baseball--unlike the anatomical feature, the prostate, that goes by many names, including "the sweet spot."

Each to his own Jack

Jack up his kindness,
Maybe his I.Q.,
his orneriness,

sophistication,
his sweetness, his beauty, but
one thing stays the same:

give or take a bit,
he's usually a pretty
damn horny bastard

Sweet confidences
Quiet, understood in full
Friendship takes swift flight

Like eagle's feather
Brim-fastened to young man's hat
Wild blue eyes' fire

Bull's balls squeezed tightly
With twine and coarse ranch-spun rope
Bucks blue boy sky high

To censor others
is hard; to censor oneself
is impossible.

After reading "The Silence"

We feel joy for those
wo never lived or loved; mourn
those who never died.

Yet we can feel joy
for those who really love; mourn
those who truly died.

Loneliness marks time
Verdant mountainside limns space
When, where is peace found?

Whole goddam movie

Cowboy hat music
Helps get me through the long day
Even if not heard.

Acknowledgement to nakymaton's little boy, who came up with the charming phrase used as my first line to describe the BBM soundtrack.

"cowboy hat music" is nice. One of the suggested buttons for the Chicago Slash Bash sponsored by DaveCuillen is:

love wore a black hat.
