Thank you for your lovely birthday wishes Paul, Clarissa, David, Chuck and Dev.            

I had an absolutely super birthday today and got some really lovely gifts, including a beautiful portrait bust of the Hindu God Ganesh rendered in faux gilt silver wearing a faux ruby bindi on his forehead. I love it.    It's designed to be wall-mounted, so it'll be going up on the balcony first thing in the morning (approaching midnight here right now). I was also given a beautiful set of what I call Shiva beads, which I will utilise as a meditation device. Exciting! Om!

I'll be having another lunch tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to already.  

Gasp, my seventh decade!   And yet, I still feel exactly the same as I always did. Until I look in the mirror that is!

I somehow missed Sel's beautiful birthday wishes and I apologise for missing it. Thank you for posting that wonderful recording of Luciano Pavarotti singing O Sole Mio, Sel. I love Pavarotti's fabulous voice. You couldn't have given me a better gift. Pavarotti had a strong connection with Australia in that he was very close to Australian operatic soprano supremo, Dame Joan Sutherland. They were very close both professionally and as friends. Pavarotti has sung many times here at the the Sydney Opera House.
