That's weird.... I don't think it's a coincidence, but I don't see the point.

Well, apart from that, who knows who else may happen to be abord that train for a cameo or two? Rhett and Scarlett, Rick and Elsa.... Romeo and Juliet?

That's wild. :D   Could be more of a inside joke (or not) from the casting department.  What is this scene about?  It seems odd two cowboys would be riding a subway car.

I like Jack with the beard scruff.  :P

ENNIS:  Jack, this is why I didn't want to move here!  The repressed homosexuals here are even worse than me!  Look at this fool.

Last January, JT had said that Heath was a huge influence on him — that Heath's craft as an actor was something he really aspired to.  So it may be kind of an homage.

I guess. And it would be a tad too obvious  unbelievable  plot-changing  distracting to have the Joker accidentally riding the train.

But... I actually seem to recall reading a novel called Pelham 123 back in my early teens (ie. some years ago!  ;D ) and I can't recall much if anything of the plot except this train gets hi-jacked by bad guys and stands there for quite a while.... which presumably means the passengers on the train have to stay around for several scenes. Which again makes it less likely that the cowboys are cameo homages to another film or actor...

Time will show.

OT, but whenever I see John Travolta lately he looks like his hair has been painted on.
