Helen I just wanted to say that I love Going Home so much! I was thinking about it this morning, the part where Jack is looking out their bedroom window and he can see Ennis' reflection... the dialogue between them at that point is beautiful. It makes me so sad to think that the last part is coming today. Any chance that it will continue??  ::)
‘cause the truth is, I already give him everythin’ I got to give, more than I ever even knew I had; ‘n it all for him, all of it, him who is my brother, my father, my child, my friend, my lover, my heart, my soul; my Ennis.

Helen-Many thanks-I really enjoyed that little holiday treat. The anticipation was an added bonus-each morning I'd get up to see if you had posted yet and check throughout the day.

One of the components of the story that appealed to me was the "normalization" of their relationship. They just got to be 2 men who were attracted to each other and it was just regular-like any het couple. Two guys that developed a fast friendship and attraction. The normalcy of the developing relationship-minimal angst-was a breath of fresh air.

This story is begging for some one-shot sequel action-or maybe that is me begging :P

Hi RouxB - I am so pleased you've enjoyed this story; it was such fun to write and I loved doing it.

I'm glad that you've enjoyed them as ordinary men; I like writing about everyday people who are just trying to do the best they can.

One of my big writing interests outside fanfic is to tell stories about people who usually tend to have some kind of issue attached to them and just show them as being like everyone else.  For instance whenever a deaf person appears plots etc. tend to centre around the person being deaf, and I would like to write about a person getting on with their life just like everyone else, but they just happen to be deaf.  I really have issues with putting people in boxes and having the gay person appear in a novel, or the deaf person, or the homeless person.  And for that one thing about them to define their whole person.

So - thank you for enjoying the normality of their relationship; I really do appreciate that. :)

Helen :)
