Well it 8.07pm in the UK - and I'm watching the start of the Eurovision - so far Graham Norton is acting very a la Terry Wogan with the sardonic so e's doing well so far and I'm watching the Eurovision winner from last year sing his winning song while he runs through brick walls..

ah I love the Eurovision!!!

(I believe a lot of my fellow Eurovision buds, missed Eurovision  :o :o :o cos thy were in the US. Shame on them!!! ) So you guys will have to catch up with me.

Okay so, Norway one... which I liked! (Here it is via the wonder of youtube!!)

But what about the rest of the acts..?

Here is my rundown.

Portugal - I liked very Mika like background.
Iceland - sounded very American. I liked it - and it came second so others did too. I liked Graham Norton's comments before she cam one about the whole of Iceland being skint, and so her Mother had raided her wardrobe and found a bridesmaid dress form 1987!  ;D)
Greece - I thought it was good and liked the platform thing they were using as a centrpiece that kept moving and chaging colour!
Spain - song rubbish but good stage show.. she dissapeared!!!
UK - Thought JAde did very well. And I loved that in the intro (where for each country, with the Russian model was in a 'hat' that represented each country) that in thr UK example she had the glasgow armadillo right at the front!

Finland - sorry it was AWFUL!!! (but by the end I was whistling along but to be fair I had had a few vodkas by that point!!)
Romania - did you notice that one of the main singers asn't deemed pretty enough to be in front of the camera. It's aparently a rule, than no backing track of singers is allowed - it must be live - so I guess that is why the wee wifey in the blue dress was on the stage and you could see here in the corner of the TV screen but she was never focused on the whole time they were on stage (Graham Norton had pointed her out to the UK TV audience!!)

Russia - it was odd!
Azerbaijan - it was my fave. Pure EUROVISION gold! Apparently this is only their second year at Eurovision!
Moldova - it was fab too! A real tap your toes tune.
Germany - Dita Von Teese rocks. I love her.. she is so so beautiful IMO. But not really sure what Dita was there to do, apar from look smoking hot.
Ukraine - umm. Also odd.
Turkey - this was a fave for me, not least becasue I'd seen this on here before hand and so I knew it.
Norway - now I did like this but I wondered if his violining was partly a backing track? I noticed a good few of the horse hairs on his bow were broken in both performances...

Finally loved the fact that the phonelines were opened by Cosmonauts - from the Space Station!!!! !! Hahahahahah! So fun!!!

oh and yay for the new system of part panel part phone vote used in each country!

The part panel voting meant the decent songs has a fighting chance even if they weren't chummy with all their european neighbours!

Not as much political voting to basically count the UK outta the running! Yay for the UK getting fifth!! Best result since 2002!

But I freely admit even with the politically voting I LOVE THE EUROVISION!!!

I have been singing "I'm in love with a fairytale!" all day!

Here are the lyrics...

Fairytale lyrics

Years ago, when I was younger
I kind a liked, a girl I knew
She was mine and we were sweet hearts
That was then, but then it's true
I'm in love with a fairytale
Even though it hurts
Cause I don't care if I lose my mind,
I'm already cursed

Every day we started fighting
Every night we fell in love
No one else could make me sadder
But no one else could lift me high above
I don't know what I was doing
When suddenly we fell apart
Nowadays I cannot find her
But when I do we'll get a brand new start
I'm in love with a fairytale
Even though it hurts
Cause I don't care if I lose my mind,
I'm already cursed

She's a fairytale yeah
Even though it hurts
cause I don't care if I lose my mind,
I'm already cursed
