"What Is It?" For May 2009 ***ANSWER POSTED!! ***
« on: May 07, 2009, 01:07:21 am »
This item is about 11 inches long and is at least 120 years old - probably MUCH older than that.

What do you think it is? ???

I will post the answer in approximately one week. Those guessing correctly will win a lamb from Jack and Ennis!

Everyone else will win a consolation prize which will be revealed at the end of the game. ;)

I can't tell you what I think it is because as per normal I am clueless. I am going to go and search out some grey matter and if I find any, I will be back to vote !!! :)
Well I might vote anyway if you promise the consollation prize is a goodie.

I promise I will give a fun prize to all those who guess incorrectly.

It won't be a lamb though! ;)

Yeah, I looked at it a few hours ago, and thought I would wait to see some answers before I voted.

....cause I dont have a clue what it is.
Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.

It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfection

It looks like it could slice your banana right into your cereal bowl, but that's not a choice.

I'll go for the sound effects generator, becauase that's weird.

My gut is telling me it's a gun powder tester, but I don't know why, nor do I know why you would need to test gun powder.

I guess to see if it hasn't gone "bad", like old firecrackers can, and become duds.

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!

It seems to be resting on a stand, which would indicate it may not have been hand held. It has what appears to be a circular saw device, and a firing pin.Well still clueless, it should be a gun for shooting attached to a saw for butchering shot prey, device thingymajig. That does not appear to be one of the options though, curious.
I vote for gunpowder tester, the pin fires and causes the saw to spin  round, which then causes sparks,a bit like a flint and if it all goes  BOOM !!  I guess the gunpowder is not wet.
It is on a stand so you can pull the trigger and run like hell.
Yes I know, time to go off with the nice little men in white coats again. I need to get a job, I'm really not fit to be left to my own devices for so much of the day. !!

Hah, just thought, it casts a whole new slant on the, "gun's goin off" of the S.S.

That is very clever Fiona! I wish I had thought of that. I could have listed it as an option in the poll Thinking up all the wrong answers is probably the most difficult challenge when creating one of these games. :)
