You Can Leave Your Hat On!   ;D

Have you all seen/heard the "Secret Heart" BBM montage on YouTube?  That was the first BBM montage I saw and I was introduced to that wonderful BBMian song.

There's always my BBM fanmix that I originally listed on IMDb's Pierre board;

You may cringe, (simply because for some reason most people do),  but I heard Almaz by Randy Crawford and I immediately thought of Ennis and Jack.  I have always loved that song and it is one to be featured at my funeral, but now I love it even more.

I guess you could say I've got it bad...don't know if anyone else is as pathetic ::) as I am but I hear Ennis and Jack's story in so many songs that come on the radio when I'm driving.  So I decided to burn a CD of songs that remind me of Ennis and Jack and Brokeback in general.   This is the list I have so far.  What do you think?  What would you add....

"With or Without You" by U2
"In Your Eyes" by Jeffrey Gaines (Peter Gabriel cover)
"Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac
"Hanging by a Thread" by Nickel Creek
"Falling Down the Mountainside" by David Gray
"Strong Enough" by Sheryl Crow
"Desperado" by The Eagles
"Angel" by Sarah McLachlan
"Hearts in Armor" by Trisha Yearwood
"Color Blind" by Counting Crows
"Better Days" by Josh Joplin Band
"I Will Remember You" by Sarah McLachlan
"Have a Little Faith in Me" Jewel
“hero” by Phil Collins and David Crosby
"The Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel

They sound great, Victoria.  I don't know whether its just cause the songs in question were used on a fan-tribute montage from the Dave Cullen site, but the songs that now remind me of BBM are:

Come What May - Ewan & Nicole (if you can still manage to download this one, DO it, its a beautifully edited tribute to the movie)
The Reason - Hoobastank
Wicked Game - Chris Isaak

And the ones that remind me personally (i honestly can't justify some of these choices, I've given up trying to decipher my brain):

One - U2
Goodbye My Lover - James Blunt
A Love That Will Never Grow Old - Emmylou (this is a tad obvious a choice, but still a great song)
Groovy Kind of Love - Phil Collins (i love phil too, Victoria!)
Endless Summer Nights - Richard Marx
The Horses - Daryl Braithewaite
Private Universe - Crowded House
The Day You Went Away - Wendy Matthews
Wild Horses - The Sundays
White Flag - Dido
Never Tear Us Apart - INXS

Yeah, ok, some might be weird, but these are on my "Brokeback" playlist in iTunes.  ;D
Chut up!

"Stay"
« Reply #17 on: April 02, 2006, 10:27:01 am »
I don't know why for sure, but the song "Stay" by Shakespear's Sister (don't be put off by the name of the performers or their inaccurate spelling) has really caught me as a song that reminds me of Ennis and Jack.  Once the DVD comes out I'll probably make a music video of it.

Check it out here.

I like the end the most, the desperation...
Love.  You have a problem with it?
