My information could be out of date or just plain wrong, but I would swear that some time ago I heard that they were not invited, and the reason given was that this is not a "state wedding," though what the heck the difference is sure escapes me.  ???

The Obamas are definitely not invited, and the same goes for other heads of state.  Crowned heads are invited, though.

Maybe they're doing it this way so they didn't have to invite Silvio Berlusconi. ...  8)

Can you imagine having him at your wedding?

And that´s a good thing, I think. Democratically elected leaders shouldn´t encourage the madness. O0

I dunno. Surely that "madness" is good for the British economy. Think of all the makers, sellers, and buyers of all those hideous wedding commemorative tchotchkes.  ;D

Not a state wedding, but they declared the day a holiday.  Who else gets that done for their wedding day?

I'm not complaining!!

I think the reason its not a state wedding is because the actual wedding itself is not being paid for by the country. The Queen Charles and the Middeltons have contributed to it from their own funds. However, the policing etc has been paid by the country.
