Partners  (TV series)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Partners  is an upcoming American comedy series that will air on CBS. In May 2012, the network placed an order for the series. It will premiere on September 24, 2012, following the sitcom How I Met Your Mother  on Monday nights. The series was created by Will & Grace  creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, who also serve as the show's executive producers. Partners  stars Michael Urie, David Krumholtz, Sophia Bush, and Brandon Routh.

Premise

Although they couldn't be more different, Louis and Joe are lifelong friends and partners in an architecture firm. Their "bromance" is tested when Joe gets engaged and Louis is in a new relationship.

Cast

 Michael Urie as Louis
 David Krumholtz as Joe
Sophia Bush as Ali, Joe's fiancée
Brandon Routh as Wyatt, Louis' boyfriend

Recurring:

 Tracy Vilar as Ro-Ro
 Molly Shannon as as Cassandra

Controversy

Critics have noted that the CBS show has many similarities to a 1995 Fox sitcom of the same name. Both shows had the same director, concept, characters with similar occupations, similar name for the main female lead, and even timeslot. In addition, Jeff Greenstein, one of the head writers of the Fox series who also worked on Will & Grace  with Kohan and Mutchnick, has claimed they were big fans of the show.

Prepare To Laugh Uncontrollably

This loveable, relationship-centered show is sure to please anyone and everyone. The main characters have amazing chemistry -- whether they're romantically involved or not -- and just watching the preview makes you laugh until you cry! The romantic relationships are not the center of attention -- instead a gay/straight friendship is the heart of the comedic genius.

Synopsis:

Inspired by the lives of fabled Will & Grace  creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, Partners  follows the lives of two best friends and business partners. When one of them becomes engaged to be married, their life-long “bromance” is put to the test. Joe (David Krumholtz) is a successful architect who makes decisions logically, especially in matters of the heart. Joe’s gay best friend and business partner, Louis (Michael Urie), is just the opposite, favoring spontaneity, hyperbole and emotional decision-making. Louis is also in a loving, happy relationship with his hunky “nurse” boyfriend, and there are many awkward but amazing moments between both couples.

Louis and Joe have been friends since childhood and although the similarities between the two are few and far between, there is love holding it all together. It is really nice to see a different aspect of a gay/straight comradery other than the typical male/female friendships, and this show highlights the best of both worlds.

Partners  is set to premier Monday, Sept. 24 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.

Why should you see it?

Everyone enjoys a good laugh, especially after a long day at the office or running the kids around, and this new series is sure to give you exactly that! As if this series isn’t already funny enough, its real-life spin only adds to its humor.

Starring:

I liked David Krumholz as the math genius in Numbers, so I'm glad to see him return to series TV.
