I'm *really* tempted to jump into the pool hip deep on those leather gloves.  O, to be a glove upon that hand, that I might..... never mind.  They're up to $610 right now - already a little rich for my blood, being the tightwad by nature that I am.  Still, it's fun to watch the money knowing it's going to a good cause.

Cassie's tube top outfit, right down to the tall strappy sandals she takes off to stick her feet in Ennis's lap is only $61 right now.  Someone tell Flashframe777, he always had a thing for it.

I'm a-stickyin' this thread! :)

Lureen's barrel-racin' outifit (red and white shirt!  kerchief!  big belt buckle!) is only $115 right now.  Hat separate.

Fantastic HRC eBay Auction of BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN WARDROBE!
« Reply #5 on: October 14, 2006, 02:22:35 pm »
If any of you try to outbid me on Linda Cardellini's TUBE TOP OUTFIT, you're going to regret it!!!

http://stores.ebay.com/Brokeback-Mountain-Hollywoodvault1

***My note sent to the seller:

What a great Brokeback auction!  Of course I will be bidding.

Just a suggestion, since this is such a great cause.  What Brokeback Mountain fans would really, really love are the PROPS from the movie, i.e., the Bettermost Beans cans, the washtub, the Old Rose Whiskey bottle, the sign on Aguirre's office door, THE BLANKETS!!! (lol), the postcards, the newspaper, the salt and pepper shakers...

Heath and Jake wore the same size pants!  34X36! :)

i spent quite a bit of time on that auction site yesterday, looking through all the stuff.  The JAMMY PANTS are there.  And Mrs. Twist's entire outfit.  And Jake's two "fat suits."  And Lureen's horseshoe shirt and horseshoe jewlry from "that teacher don't like me."  And of course Ennis's gloves.............

Hey Ellemeno,

I posted yesterday about the auction...guess this thread was here before.

I've already warned anyone who plans on bidding against me on that TUBE TOP outfit -- you're gonna regret it.  :-)))

No, I don't want to wear it...much.  It's more of an inside joke from the first screening of BBM I went to with my best friend.  He's a very handsome, muscular man.  When Linda Cardellini walks up to the jukebox to put in a coin, he leaned into me and said, "I wore that same outfit last night."  I howled!!!

So, you see, the outfit means something profoundly heartwarming to me.  lol.

Joe Aguirre's Uncle Harold outfit is currently going for more than Jack's reunion shirt and vest. ???

Shhhhhhh!  I'm trying to win this thing.

Do you think the gold earrings will make my butt look fat?

********UPDATE**********

This has been a day of great sadness so far (as of 2 minutes ago).  I did not win the Cassie outfit.  My high bid of 512.99 did not register in time because I am in a small podunk Texas town where & my family refuses to get broadband, and wi-fi signals are nowhere around.  I tried linking from my wireless cellular service , but couldn't figure it out in time.  Lesson:  Never bid for important stuff on eBay if your only access is dial-up.  The outfit sold for $500.00.

Another very sad bidder here - I left this am as the 'high bidder' - certain that I would end up w/ Alma Jr's shirt, jeans & belt from the final scene (where Ennis says to her, "This fella, he loves you?" ).  I'd spent a long time deciding that that scene was the one I wanted an item from.  Thought that outfit was flying under the radar & my maximum bid was high enough over my current winning bid that I'd get it for sure.

I'm going to bed now & pulling the blanket over my head.   :'(

Bummer, LJ.  That shirt would have looked cute on you.  There're people who wait til the last minutes of an auction prepared to put the last bid in.  On something that REALLY matters, it's good to be there to be that person.  Like I said to Scott, maybe you could contact the winner?

Eric -

Like Elle said, now you tell us!  The Brokeback Auction is the only one I've ever bid on.  Early on I bid on some of Lureens boots - but decided I needed to focus!  So then I knew what it had to be.

Unfortunately, I had to go to work & my work does track computer use so I couldn't bid from there.  Even staying home, dial-up - need I say more?  I thought $100.00 over my (winning in the am) high bid would do it  :(

I heard from the winning bidder - so obviously they read my post here.  I am happy for them but soon as I read their note - I started to cry - of course, that scene almost always makes me cry anyway.   :'(

PS - Elle, are you kidding!!  :o  Those ladies are all size 2 -4!  In my dreams...

The latest info on HRC's website indicates that the bidding topped $80,000 USD.  If I'm reading it correctly, this is the figure as the bidding began to close for some items, 10/18, and not a final value.
