Favorite Halloween candy
« on: October 31, 2006, 02:36:13 pm »
Of all those, gotta go with candy corn.  Nothing like pure, unadulterated (except for the food coloring) sugar.   ;D
No more beans!

There's only one I like, and it's hard to find anymore. It's called Bit o'honey.

OMG Bit o Honeys's...I love those.  Check out a Cracker Barrell Rest if you have then where you are...they have all the old time candy.  Sky Bars, wax lips, candy dots (you now the ones on the strip of paper)

Did someone say candy?

I'd love to post a picture of my favorite candy but it's XXX rated.

Three Muskateers is my favorite Halloween candy. I also love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

  there are few of us rather fond of that particular treat David

For Halloween gotta be candy corn, ever since I was a kid.  Only have it on Halloween, just like I only allow myself Jelly Beans at Easter.  Silly traditions. ::)

Yes. If someone could figure out a way to package it and sell it in stores, they would make millions!

I was just about to make a poll about Halloween candy, but I decided to do a search to see if one might already exist.  And, thus I discovered this old thread.  Of this list I voted for Gummy Bears, Almond Joy and Reese's Pieces.    But, really I'd like to substitute the Reese's Pieces with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (my real favorite Halloween candy).

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are good any time of year!  ;D

On the list, I just went with Milky Way.  :)

Well, after work I'm heading to the store to buy probably both some Reese's Pieces and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  I'm inspired all of a sudden.
:)

So, I'll have some candy to pass out later today. I'll be happy to share David! 8)

I've voted for peppermint patties, Three Musketeers and "other" -- i.e., KitKat bars.

When I was a kid, I had a hierarchy for Halloween loot. Any kind of chocolate-type bar was at the top. Fresh fruit was at the bottom; not because I didn't like fresh fruit but because I could have that any time.

Candy is good for all occasions, but since I had 3 to choose from I went with Snickers, Hershey's chocolate bar and M&M's.  I like my Snickers cold, Hershey's with almonds though Stovers chewy chocolates are better. M&M's are good just the way they are.  Mmmmmmmm Chocolate!

Absolutely! Chocolate always goes at the top of the list!  ;D

But, really I'd like to substitute the Reese's Pieces with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (my real favorite Halloween candy).

I think they are the favorite for a lot of people, Amanda.  Several years ago, my local paper did an informal survey asking kids what their favorite Halloween candy was and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups won by a wide margin.  The article was published a couple weeks before Halloween and a lot of people must've read it, b/c I clearly remember my son coming home with tons of Reese's that year!

I like chocolate in any form and I love Junior Mints (Peppermint Patties are also good).  Candy corn and Nerds don't excite me much, but I've always liked the sour apple and watermelon Jolly Ranchers.   :)

Nerds were considered a very, very cool and hip candy when I was in grade school.  LOL, I remember people thinking that the double-sided box (with the two flavors) was really a neat feature.  I think they're OK.  In general I'm not too much of a "hard candy" type of person.  And Nerds are really mainly tiny hard candies.

Tell you what, last night I got to reminiscing about one of my childhood favorites. I used to love getting grape  Tootsie-pops, grape-flavored lollipops with Tootsie Roll centers. They were yummo!  :D

Reese's peanut butter cups, Butterfingers, and other (Baby Ruths, would prefer Clark bars but they're so difficult to find nowadays!)

Snickers, Almond Joy, Butterfinger....any chocolate.

I liked popcorn balls and sometimes I would get homemade ones in my bag, but my grandmother wouldn't let me have anything homemade unless she knew who made it---which was hardly ever.  :P 8)
