There's this weird probability thing, where if you have enough people in a room and ask everyone there birthday, at least 2 people have the same one.  So aside from a nice way to know each other's bdays, send happy wishes, etc., I'm dying to see who has the same birth date.

Two nights ago I decided to wear a loop/ring instead of a stud, and now I want to take it out 'cause it's bugging me (it's so hard to put on lip-gloss/balm with a loop in!) and I can't get it out! It's too tight! (teehee)

I don't know anybody with my bday, except that I think it's Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

No way!  Me too!  Or rather, since all you Americans have been writing it incorrectly, I see it falls to me to show you how a date should properly be written:

18/10
18.10
18th October

There now, isn't that better?  Oh, and while we're at it, colour and harbour have a 'u'.  You all can thank me now.  ;D

Wow we are a right bunch but I think I see a patern imerging that there are alot more of my fellow Libras out there:

Chanterais and Judy: 10/18
Me: 10/17
Delaluvia:10/16

Now all we need are the 15th and the 19th to complete our little group!

btw I find it so hard trying to write it the American way and that is how I get confused cause it is the other way round here in the UK so I sometimes think, "What, there is no 17th month!" and then I realise that it is written the American way.

K,(you don't mind me calling that do you?) you have got the same Birthday as Lebois, I checked on the geocities site.

I was going to write it the British way and then I decided to respect most of the guys on here and write it there way, I was trying to be considerate cause they might get confused.

And Judy - I find always instant affinity with Librans.  We seem to have some common understanding of what we consider appropriate social behavior.  Competely unspoken, and even unkown to ourselves, but always delighted to see it in another!

well I don't know anything about the number 18, but I guess it was cold in January and my parents got a little frisky, so guess what happened 9 months later - which brings me to another theory (never proven, but something I have thought about a lot) that there are more babies born in the late summer and early fall because of cold winter nights..........

What do you mean the American way? I thought writing dates like this April /7/2006, was in English. And like this 7/April /2006, was in Spanish.

Right.  Canadians also use the European style, though more people are starting to use the American style.  Which isn't, despite my earlier inflammatory comments, wrong, just different.

Wow I never knew my confusion would teach people things about how they write dates! ;)
In the UK and Europe we write it like this:

Day/ Month/ Year

And in the Americas they write it like this:

Month/ Day/ Year

I know this cause on holidays to the US my dad always gets confused and writes dates the UK way on all of his travelers checks! ::)
I wonder how people from Australia and the East write it? Can anyone on here spread any light on it?

to Becky and Chanterais and any other Librans - you know I read once that LIbrans will always find and associate with other Librans - and yes, we are close knit group - emotional and romantic, but definitely strong and stubborn too.

We do?  Librans should not hang around Librans.  Can you imagine trying to decide where to go for dinner?

L1:  Where do want to go?
L2:  I don't care.  Wherever you gals do.
L3:  Do you like Chinese?
L4:  Um, sure.
L1:  Oh, she doesn't.  How about Italian?
L3:  It's OK.
L1:  Is that a yes or no?
L3:  It's ok if you gals want to go.
L2:  No Italian.
L4:  How about that new place?
L1:  Has anyone been there?
L2:  Not me.
L3:  Better wait until someone has.
L1:  Yeah.
L2:  You're right.
L4:  So, where do you want to go for dinner?

I'm usually wildly attracted to Leos for friends.  They're self-confident and sweep through life like some conquering warrior and are full of instant decision making.

Interesting thing about people born in October.  You always know what your parents were doing on New Years.  ;D

lol del.  actually, i'm a leo/virgo cusp and have many virgo characteristics.  i have to be pushed to the edge before i come to a decision, but i will make one eventually.  it's always like your libra conversation, until i get frustrated and take charge.  i don't know if it's because of my sign or the way i was raised, because everyone in my family is like that haha

Seems like you have an intersting mix of signs!  Wondering what your sun-moon opposition looks like in real life...a very disciplined and structed emotional warmth?  Have to see the actual chart to know more, but Mars in Aries has got to give a lot of initiating energy to your nature!

LOL Del, you have just summed up what it is like with my friends! Two of my best friends are both Libras and we are always like "What do you want?" "I don't know what are you having?"! And it is hilarious when my other best friends Pieces(I can't spell) Virgo and Gemini get involved cause they get so p!ssed of with us. I am actually the most indecisive person I know. Even when choosing stuff that doesn't matter (a la my whole thread about deciding what screensaver I wanted) everyone else I know gets so annoyed. ::)

Good grief, Linus!  Where do you guys find this stuff out?  Does it actually mean anything?  If I find out what planet is rising in my conjunct (oh, how rude!), will it tell me how I'll do on my finals?

Anyone else ever read their horoscope, not like it, and keep reading till you find a good one?  That's me.  The astrological thief.  I also steal napkins and the tiny bottles of shampoo you get in hotels.  But I'm a Libra, so you probably knew that.

Sun is in Pisces, Pisces rising, Moon in Virgo.  Here's what alabe.com has to say about this time and place of birth, for what it's worth.  :)

Rising Sign is in 22 Degrees Pisces

Very sensitive to your surroundings, other people's feelings become your feelings. Try to avoid negative people because your tendency to empathize with them will make you negative also. An idealist, you must believe in something beyond your normal everyday existence. A dreamer, you like to escape to a world of your own creation. As such, you are known for the vividness of your imagination and should try to share your inner visions with others. Very self-sacrificial by nature, beware of others becoming overly dependent on you or vice versa. Allow yourself to live for yourself once in a while -- you deserve it. Don't be so envious of those who are more aggressive than you -- your gentle charity and true humility are indeed wonderful gifts.  On the tenth house cusp (MIDHEAVEN).

Sun is in 26 Degrees Pisces.

Extremely sensitive and emotional, you absorb the emotions of others (whether positive or negative) like a sponge. Emotionally vulnerable, you are easily upset and tend to cry readily. You are at your best when you can structure your environment in such a way that you are surrounded by positive, upbeat people. You are very helpful and understanding of the needs of others. Indeed, at times this can be a disadvantage, because you can be a sucker for anyone who needs help. Shy, dreamy, romantic in nature, you delight in retreating into your private fantasy world. Just be careful that you do not get lost in it! Trust your intuitions -- you may be quite psychic.

Moon is in 26 Degrees Virgo.

You tend to be serious-minded but cheerful for the most part. You need tasks that engage both your mind and your hands. A careful worker, you enjoy making things. You are neat and orderly, and are very concerned with good health habits. Fastidious to the extreme, you cannot tolerate messes and will immediately clean them up. Reserved, shy, and very self-critical, you tend to be very hard on yourself. You usually will go out of your way to be helpful and useful to others. Practical, reliable, efficient and conservative, at times you are a bit of a prude. You are known to lead a simple, uncomplicated, frugal, methodical and unemotional lifestyle. You are devoted and caring to those you love.

Mercury is in 14 Degrees Aries.

Very quick-witted, you are known for being an independent thinker. You love to debate and argue, and are excellent at repartee and battles of wits. At times, however, you act too fast on hastily formed opinions and thus waste a lot of energy defending your rash and sometimes incorrect conclusions. It is perfectly acceptable for you to defend your beliefs with your usual vigor, but try not to take the opinions of others as personal insults.

Venus is in 20 Degrees Pisces.

You have a dreamy, fanciful, romantic nature and a very creative imagination. Indeed, at times, your private fantasies are more appealing than the reality around you and it is difficult for you to leave them. You tend to be unselfish and giving in relationships and are extremely sensitive of the needs of others. Be very sure that those you help are worthy of your devotion and are not merely taking advantage of your innocence and naivete.

Mars is in 15 Degrees Virgo.

Very careful and systematic, you pay great attention to details. You are always seeking perfection and sometimes get bogged down searching for the ultimate when adequacy would have been sufficient. You dislike abstractions, preferring whatever is practical, useful and demonstrable. You have a strong and enduring sense of personal responsibility, and you demand that others be as responsible and upright as you are. Very critical of yourself and others, sometimes you carry this too far and become overly intolerant of others and their right to choose their own lifestyles.

Jupiter is in 22 Degrees Taurus.

Growth only occurs for you after you have found a stable lifestyle and a dependable, protective and secure environment. You are at your best when those around you provide you with a great deal of affection and support. When you feel insecure or threatened, you tend to become possessive and grasping and self- indulgent. You are an inveterate collector with an expensive preference for all the good things that life has to offer.

Saturn is in 09 Degrees Pisces.

Your tendency to think that your life is out of control is based on an unreasonable fear, probably connected with an unfortunate experience with the person who filled the father figure role in your early life. Learn to take responsibility here and now for your own life. Try to stop having unrealistic expectations about guide figures. Remember that they are merely human, with all the same faults and self-doubts that you have. When you get confused or uncertain, try to simplify your lifestyle -- things will then become easier to bear.

Uranus is in 12 Degrees Virgo.

You, and all your peers, will be known for the degree of intensity with which you dislike normal everyday routines and chores. You will go out of your way to invent innovative, unique and timesaving ways to perform the various mundane routines and duties of living. You will be attracted to all manner of practical and useful gadgets -- anything that will make your daily life more exciting.

Neptune is in 19 Degrees Scorpio.

You, and your entire generation, are extremely interested in anything deep and mysterious. You will explore and idealize the benefits that can accrue from the study of the occult, healing and psychology. You are willing to experiment with substances like drugs in order to push your understanding of your inner being to the extreme.

Pluto is in 14 Degrees Virgo.

For your entire generation, this will be a time when profound changes in society's attitude toward work, duty and responsibility will be initiated. Radical changes in attitudes toward personal health and general nutrition will be promulgated and gain wide acceptance and practice.

N. Node is in 17 Degrees Gemini.

You will consciously seek out many different contacts with others throughout your life. Many of these will be of very short duration, not necessarily because you're fickle, but just because you always seem to be more excited by the prospect of meeting someone new rather than prolonging your present relationships. At any rate, you will learn something new from almost everyone you come across -- intellectual stimulation is what you crave from others. You will be well known to neighbors and relatives, partly due to your curiosity about what they're doing -- you delight in keeping up-to-date about the latest news (and gossip).

10/17/90, 12.06am, Welwyn Garden City, UK
This is me apparently acording to the site that Barb gave. I don't quite agree with some of the stuff that says about I like elegant surroundings and possesions, if they could see me now they wouldn't think that. I do agree about the laziness though and I do sometimes think I am quite the diplomat. ::)

Rising Sign is in 05 Degrees Leo
You love to be the center of attention and you want to appear strong, confident and dominant. You are very proud of yourself, sometimes quite vain even. When all around you are bedraggled and falling apart, you look like a million bucks! Very dignified and honorable, you enjoy the power and privilege, but not the responsibilities, that come with leadership. You are very idealistic but can also be quite stubborn. Others impress you only if they have integrity (but wealth, power and influence can also turn your head). You prefer rich, elegant surroundings and possessions, and will try to acquire them as your budget allows. Physically, you are very impressive - - at your best you have a regal, charismatic demeanor and bearing. Try not to be such a showoff!

Sun is in 23 Degrees Libra.
Very sociable, you enjoy being with others and definitely prefer not be alone. Warm and affectionate, you go out of your way to make others like you. You despise ugliness, for you being surrounded by beauty and harmony is a necessity of life. You prefer fine clothing, an attractive home and pleasant surroundings wherever you are. Your refined tastes apply to music and to art as well. At times, you are very indecisive you waver and falter when forced to make a choice because you have the ability to see both sides of any question. The positive part of this is that you are very fair-minded and can be trusted to settle disputes. Your greatest challenge is to take any one- on-one encounter and make the most of it.

Moon is in 04 Degrees Libra.
Affectionate, warm and friendly, life must be a "beautiful" experience for you. Unpleasantness should be avoided at all costs. You tend to overlook other people's faults and you would rather give in than fight. You are uncomfortable with strangers, but at ease and sociable with friends and associates. Indeed, you would rather socialize than work -- you can use your prodigious charm to avoid unpleasant tasks. You need the support and assistance of another in order to get you started on any new project -- you are not a self-starter. Be careful of a tendency to be overly self-indulgent (i.e., lazy). Your refined aesthetic sensibilities attract you to music, dance, art and any other cultured activity.

Mercury is in 19 Degrees Libra.
You are known for not jumping to conclusions about things. You tend to weigh all possible choices very carefully before making a decision. When in the slightest amount of doubt, you will compromise rather than ruffle any feathers. You are a true raconteur of culture and taste -- your ideas and opinions are neat, elegant and refined. A born diplomat, you dislike discord so much that you will go out of your way to make others feel comfortable and at ease. You speak softly and pleasantly.

Venus is in 19 Degrees Libra.
A very friendly and outgoing person, you hate to be alone. Beware of a continuing tendency to compromise yourself in order to avoid being lonely. Try to be yourself, not what others would like you to be. You have an innate desire to be in refined and elegant surroundings and will go out of your way to create a plush and comfortable atmosphere around you. You have heightened aesthetic sensibilities and are attracted to music and the arts. Try to avoid using your well-known seductive charm in order to get out of doing what you consider to be dirty work!

Mars is in 14 Degrees Gemini.
Your energies get turned on quickly whenever anything interests you. But you have a very short attention span and it is difficult for you to complete tasks because something else more interesting always seems to be beckoning. You love to debate and argue, usually in a spirit of friendly disagreement. But watch out that you do not get too overly aggressive or antagonistic or others will be quick to take offense where none may have really been intended. You need to be in constant physical motion -- sports or daily exercise is a must for you if you are to feel fit and healthy.

Jupiter is in 10 Degrees Leo.
You must be proud of all that you do in order to grow and develop. You enjoy being totally honest and aboveboard and you revel in the admiration and respect you receive from others due to your high- minded, upright way of life. Make sure, though, that your natural tendency to boast and show off is based on your actual accomplishments. Don't fall prey to self-exaggeration or arrogance. You truly do like outrageous spectacles and grand jolly times and will go out of your way to make them a reality.

Saturn is in 19 Degrees Capricorn.
Very serious-minded and mature, you have the ability to take on responsibilities and to carry out important duties. You can also be trusted to be extremely practical and thrifty. A good organizer, you are the ideal one to be counted on to take a clearly defined project through to its logical conclusion. An achiever, you pride yourself on your ability to focus your attention totally on some worthy goal and then attain it.

Uranus is in 06 Degrees Capricorn.
You, and your peer group as well, seek out practical solutions to a changing society's attitudes to customs, traditions and authority structures. Your logical and orderly manner of dealing with these matters will result in permanent and carefully planned, but sweeping, reforms.

Neptune is in 11 Degrees Capricorn.
You, and your entire generation, will idealize work, practicality and the ability to attain reasonable goals. But, because you will also stress the need to be selfless and giving, you may find it difficult to attain your goals unless you have lowered your expectations on all fronts.

Pluto is in 16 Degrees Scorpio.
For your entire generation, this is a period of intense research and discovery in areas that were heretofore considered mysterious, remote or taboo. The root causes for many complex occurrences will be unearthed due to the intensity and thoroughness of the search.

N. Node is in 03 Degrees Aquarius.
As long as someone else (or a group or organization) appeals to your intellectual sensibilities, you'll try to ally yourself with them in some way. You may find that you always seem to get involved with many wide-ranging groups -- so much so that you find it difficult to fit them all into your busy schedule. Your many friends and acquaintances provide you with needed stimulation. You're loyal and fair-minded -- you try to spend time equally with all your friends, never concentrating on just one or two for any length of time. Although probably quite conservative yourself, you're attracted to those who are a bit offbeat or eccentric -- you enjoy watching their minds work.
