OK... Who's with me???
« on: November 26, 2006, 07:47:03 pm »
Anyone else watching the premiere at 7:30 EST on HBO East tonight (or at 10:30 PST on HBO West?).  Or am I the only uber-geek who wants to be able to say I've viewed it on every TV in my house (two with DVD players and tonight, one without)?

Don't answer that.

I'm with you babe! It is on in 40 minutes here and I am nervous as all get out. How goofy is that? It's on again and 7:30 and 10:30 but only SfEricSf will be watching it all three times  ;)

Part of me wants to watch it constantly and get this addiction out of my system. A bigger part of me wants to hold it close-roll around in it, get it all up on me and suffer  :-\

Well you lucky ladies! Couldn't even be with you and watch it on dvd since our *only* TV was taken tonight, and now it's free but it is well past my bedtime!

Enjoy it, America! :-*

And Jake has never been so mind-bending beautiful as he was when he was Jack Twist.  As I've said before (and no offense to Jake lovers (i.e., myself and all those of exquisite taste)), but Jack still exists separately from Jake.  As does Ennis from Heath.  I've just never seen anything like it - and I have to think that what inspired them to this greatness was their own innate talent coupled with the beauty of Annie's story.  But if I ever see such beauty in acting again, I believe it will be one or both of them who delivers it to me.  They are just The Shit.  That's all there is to it.

This is the first time I cried during the movie. The first time I cried for me. The first time I really let myself know why I am so connected with these characters.

I am back to where I was a year-before my life got out of my control. Time to make those changes-starting with loving myself enough to do.

I just finished watching Brokeback (2 times in a row  ::) ) on HBO East and HBO West.  Bob watched HBO west with me, but he had to see the Colts vs Eagles game earlier, priorities man, priorities!  I can watch Paton Manning ANY time! Well actually techinically I can watch BBM anytime I want to....but don't ask me to be reasonable about my obsession  :-\

I knew it was coming so I purposefully have not watched my DVD in months and it was WONDERFUL!  I felt like I did the first time, I cried (both times) and I still feel exactly same about this wonderful movie.  I even noticed little things I never noticed before!  Can you imagine that

I feel a little sad, a little melancholy that this movie that we all loved so much and bonded over received so little attention in it's TV premiere. I know we've all seen it a million times and yet...

I know that for this community to be sustainable we need common ground outside of Brokeback Mountain but I'm missing the excitement and the heart.
I had to ask myself why it is so hard to let go.

sigh
