OT: WGA picks 101 Greatest Screenplays
« on: April 07, 2006, 07:57:30 pm »
The Writers Guild of America has released its 101 Greatest Screenplays of all time list, as voted on by its members.

Unfortunately, BBM did not make the list (although Terms of Endearment, based on Larry McMurtry's novel, is #64).

But it's a pretty great list nonetheless, and I'm sure everyone will see at least a few of their favorites (as well as a handful that probably shouldn't be there, but oh well, I'm getting used to disappointments at this point):

Yeah, great choices, but I don't get it. They did award the 2005 WGA Award for best adapted screenplay to BBM, didn't they? So, why not listing it in the best 101? I don't see how BBM's screenplay would be lesser than Jerry Maguire's, for ex.

Oh, well...

LOL... Had the 2005 best original screenplay been listed among the 101, I think I would have needed a new monitor... (hmmm, was that proper grammar? Henrypie!)

it's a shame bbm didn't make it.  a few of my favorites did make it though, so i can't complain.
