SPOILER:   RE;  Chapter 14

OMG!   Thanks Louise!   Now I have to go into work all riled up!   And if you have read my earlier post at the 1000+ thread,  you'll know I have a Nick of my own waiting there!     I'll probably turn beet red the instant I see him!

Nick is having inner conflicts here.

He is used to his Navy ways of getting what he wants.   For guys like him, it is the thrill of the hunt and conquer.   Sex has always been about Lust.

Here he does Lust after Jeremy, but he knows there is something more.   He doesn't want to hurt him, both physically nor emotionally.

This inner voice we hear is his old ways of bedding down Tricks.    His raw desire is urging him to pillage and plunder.   But he is trying so hard to pace himself, even using some of his old relaxing techniques on Dupree that he used to use on virgins before.

On the butter.
“Mr. Coyote always gets me good, boy,”  Ellery said, winking.  “Almost forgot what life was like before I got me my own personal coyote.”

Riiiggghhhtt.... Okaaaayyy.

I think I can see this now. When I read it I just saw Nick viewing Jeremy as another conquest, which seemed to be contradicting some of his courtship behaviour.

What you're saying makes sense - he is used to aiming just for the conquest, but in Jeremy he's found someone with whom he wants more.

I do hope so.

from this I conclude:

You guys really really miss Ellery.  So my next story after "Dupree's Choice" I will make the "Ellery meets Ennis" chapter, how's that?  Then the reception.

Oh, and there will be two chapters here soon in rapid succession.

All of this sounds absolutely wonderful, Louise  :)
