ok the good news first: I got the job.

The bad news:  there is an enormous heap of administrivia and paperwork to do now, as well as a significant amount of WAITING, packing, and cleaning up... but I got my shopping done, the recycling is in the bin, the job search is over, and I had good news for Christmas!!

That's the best Christmas present ever, Louise!  :) Wonderful news!  :) CONGRATULATIONS!!   :-*

yes folks,

I finshed this story early, and I am going to write a Christmas story entitled "Red Stallions for Christmas" about Francine and Junior and Francine's "little fib" about getting "red stallions" for Christmas.  I hope it will be relatively lighthearted,

I can hardly wait for you to get started on this story, Louise!

Dedicated to Louise with thanks

Another day

Dark-eyed
Ellery
smooths down long limbs
kicking sheets
A restless longing
moans out its greeting

Another day

Shuffling through
the doorway
empty
Morning shadows
dampening
his cold bed

Another day

He pauses
A new birdsong
faraway
Drunk with delight
from some mountain stream
flowing towards him

Another day

The Swiss Alps

Lovely, Jo  :) Thanks as always for sharing  :)

Thank you so much for Ellery's story, Louise!  It was absolutely wonderful - so many memorable and meaningful passages.  I'm looking forward to re-reading it already.

We'll be hearing more about Francine's "red stallions"?     I can't wait - that should be very interesting!

Congratulations on your new job and good luck with all you have to do!

Thanks again, Marie

Just to take the more personal events in my life out of the fan fic thread, I started a blog for my hapless expatriate adventures here, in "Our Daily Thoughts"

whoa whoa whoa... how could anyone miss them?  It's only been a day!

Now a week I can understand...

I need to go out and get some rug cleaner and some bathroom floor cleaner for the next phase of my clearout, and after I get the foamy stuff down on the rug I will be working on the next chapter, which is appropriately titled:

"The Fire Is So Delightful"
