In the City - Josh and Adam Kiss

A tease from BBC America's In the City, imported to the US and starting tonight here.  (From BBC's Hollyoaks in the City, set in Liverpool, started in 2005 in the UK.)

I'm just glad somebody is out there to excerpt the 'best' stuff (from my biased point of view), since I wouldn't like to be strung along for weeks on a normal soap with a subplot I liked.

This is what Hollyoaks In the City is a spin off of.......It was basically commissioned so that it could be shown at night so it can be more racy, show nudity etc etc....

Hollyoaks is a soap - like Corrie or Eastenders or Emmerdale - although it portreys much younger characters generally that the other more traditional soaps. It airs 5 nights a week for half an hour at 6.30pm. it's very good. I'm hooked on one particualr storyline at the moment.

It just started here, apparently last night, on BBC America.  Here they just call it In the City.  They must have published that preview early on even though it comes later to draw in a bigger audience at the start!  Was the Josh and Adam plot a very big part of the first season?  I gather Adam is also quite involved with the ladies. 

A soap set in a different locale with some authentic local elements automatically has an additional interest.  I did enjoy the soft-edged Scouse in that clip - it gave the script quite a bit of flavor.  From what I read, Philip Olivier did not have to act the accent, he really is from Liverpool.

From what i can remember it takes a while to develop, Josh comes out in about the 2nd episode and has a schoolboy crush on him for a good while before it all comes to a head if you like.

Phillip Oliver and Leon (the coloured guy with the dreads)- are both Liverpudlians in real life and started their acting career in the now defunct soap Brookside. also set in Liverpool. 

It's a standing joke that in Holyoaks and its spin offs there is not an ugly one in it! They are all stunningly gorgeous!!
