Leo can shove his Oscar nomination up you know where. That's what the Spanish press practically told him when he got one hour late to the press junket organized to promote his movie Blood Diamond. He gave no explanation or apologized for his tardiness. The journalists responded by booing Leo, and refusing to take pictures of him. It was funnier on TV because Leo got royaly pissed. Here's the piece:

Leonardo DiCaprio late for junket, Spanish revolt
Being late to your own party or press junket is bad form, and Leonardo DiCaprio found out the hard way the Spaniards don't like rude guests of honor.

Leonardo DiCaprio has angered the Spanish press by tardiness to his own press photo call for "Blood Diamond" reports TMZ from Spanish media sources.

After arriving an hour late for the junket in Madrid to promote his film, the three-time Oscar nominee met with jeers and boos from the angry press.

TMZ reports that Leo could only take "thirty seconds of it and walked out of the room annoyed"  prompting the tough crowd to break into rounds of loud applause.

Adios muchacho.

IMO, he has it deserved. William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman's husband, brought that problem up a while ago, when publicly scolded Lindsay Lohan for her constant tardiness to the set and to the press conferences. Here's his quote:

Quote
According to People magazine, the 56-year old said, "You can't show up late. It's very, very disrespectful."

In the upcoming movie "Bobby," which is directed by Emilio Estevez, Macy and Lohan share a scene together. Macy says the young starlet is a "huge talent," but he also expressed concern about her tardiness to work.

"I think what an actor has to realize (is that) when you show up an hour late, 150 people have been scrambling to cover for you," added the actor.

"There is not an apology big enough in the world to have to make 150 people scramble. It's nothing but disrespect. And Lindsay Lohan is not the only one. A lot of actors show up late as if they're God's gift to the film. It's inexcusable, and they should have their asses kicked." Awesome.  Leonardo is a great talent (Lindsey much less so), but these people need to stop believing their own press.
