“Hmnn, I’m not sure lil girl. Sorry.”
That’s what you get for not finishing high school, Ennis scolded himself, not for the first time.
“What are you working on, anyway?”
“It’s a creative writing assignment for English class.” She put down her pencil and turned to look at her father directly. “I am trying to write a story about a girl who feels just average, like she’s not good at anything. But then something special happens, and she realizes that she is really a good person and shouldn’t be so down on herself. I don’t have all the details worked out just yet,” she smiled shyly at her father.
“Well, it sounds real good honey. I’m sure you’ll do a great job.”
