Hi all,

Testa Dura has started her sequel to 48 Days. It's title is Book of Dreams. This is her summary:

This is the sequel to 48 Days, a Brokeback AU presupposing that Jack was saved from death by a rash act on the part of his son. This led him to make drastic changes in his life and his relationship with Ennis. Book of Dreams follows Jack and Ennis as they build a life together in Fort Collins, CO.

Afternoon.

Have read the most current chapter, Chapter 8, posted on Brokeback Slash. Really good sequel; lots of soul-searching for Jack and Ennis as they face Jack's Dad's illness, and Ennis' finally telling his family about Jack and him. And then there's Bobby and his relationship with Jack as he heads off to college, and then there's their friends at work and how/when to tell them.

It's also posted on Wranglers. Hope the author can post the links here, too, so it reaches a wider reading audience. Recommend it to all.

Did you see the recent notice on testa dura's live journal about the delay of updates for the next week or two.

Well, at least it really does sound like it's a temporary situation.

I was waiting for an update, but didn't check her journal (I'm looking at brokebackslash and wranglers for updates).

Since she normally updates like a clockwork, I'm not worried. I'm sure she will be back like she said.

BTW: Amanda, we still have this thread to our own. Hey folks, I recommend this story. It's a good one. With all those AU!AU stories dominating the fandom nowadays, I appreciate it all the more, because it is a good ol' URF.
(And I don't have anything against AU!AUs. There are some I've really enjoyed. But in general, I prefer AU).

For anyone who's a fan of this author's stories, I thought I'd point out that a new one-shot has been posted.

It's called "Only for Jack" and is a melancholy, but very well written canon story.

When I saw this thread popping up I thought Tes might have updated something, if only a small one-shot in the 48 Days universe. Oh well, maybe some day.

I second/third the recommodation for this one. It's one of my favorites (both, 48 Days and the sequel Book of Dreams).

Wow!! I'm here to report that I just discoverd that Testa Dura started a new story! I just began a thread about this new fic: http://bettermost.net/forum/index.php/topic,32541.0.html

I haven't read the first two chapters yet. But, I'm excited to see this author still active.
