Brokeback Mountain Convention This Summer

While I applaud Vermonts initiative,  I am disappointed that Wyoming didn't think of that first.   I love Vermont, but you know if you tell people you went to Brokeback Mountain, they'll look at you funny if you say you were in Vermont.   It just doesn't conjur up visions of Cowboys.

Then again,   I was one of two Cowboys spotted at the Train Station in Manhattan recently!    LOL.     But in my defence, you see EVERYTHING in New York City, even the famous Naked Cowboy!

Alberta is very beautiful (of course, you saw that in the movie) - sorry Vermont - but just the name is not the same for me. 

So, I will keep a list of those that express an interest in Alberta.  If you want, PM me w/ your e-mail. 

David - Calgary is definitely cowboy territory - maybe in addition to the bars where Brokeback was filmed (mountains, lake, etc) maybe we could go to a rodeo too while there!

Hey, silkncense, put me on the Alberta list.  I started a thread on TOB about going this June, but I had to drop the idea for personal reasons.  I still want to go, though.   June is the best month IMO.  It's before the Calgary Stampede, so there won't be big crowds there.  And we could celebrate the full moon in June, which is when Jack and Ennis first shared that tent.
