Civil Unions legal in NJ

i was reading on yahoo tonight that, although marriage of same sex couples hasnt passed law yet..civil unions have in New Jeresy.  I think thats a step in the right direction.  What do you think?

Now Rhode Island is recognizing Massachusetts same sex marriages.
