LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The Oscar-winning writers of "Brokeback Mountain" are developing a Fox television drama that sources said will examine urban and rural life.

Details on the untitled project, which Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana will write and executive produce, have been kept under wraps.

McMurtry and Ossana are in postproduction on CBS' six-hour miniseries "Comanche Moon." Based on McMurtry's best-selling novel, a prequel to "Lonesome Dove," the miniseries stars Steve Zahn, Karl Urban, Val Kilmer and Rachel Griffiths.

Additionally, the writing duo is developing an ABC drama called "Sheriff Luke." On the feature side, they are bringing McMurtry's novel "Boone's Lick" to the big screen in a project that will star Tom Hanks.

Steve Zahn is cute, but he's no Ennis!

Also watch for Wes Studi as Chief Buffalo Hump. I enjoyed seeing him as Magwa on The Last of the Mohicans. Watched the director's cut the other day--I recommend it!!
