It's all over (I quit watching at 10:30 pm my time) but Martin Scorsese won for Best Director and The Departed. Yeah!

Clint Eastwood was shut out!

Biggest complaint this morning from celebrities.......TOO LONG.  When something is not entertaining, then the time drags.  Almost 4 hours?
There were only two of them on the mountain flying in the euphoric, bitter air, looking down on the hawks back and crawling lights of vehicles on the plain below....they believed themselves invisible.   A. Proulx

I heard that there was a little glipse of BBM at the begining of the awards, when they demonstrated sound effects or something???  If so, maybe Sid Whatshisname is trying to apologize to us for last years pitiful outcome??

I watched the oscars, and was glad I did. It was a lot different than last year somehow. It is hard to be tense when Ellen is the MC.

Good things I saw:

A sound effect chior doing the wind while on a screen behind them Ennis Delmar ducked into an alley and
tried to be sick.

Maggie Gyllenhaal. She didn't even have to say anything. She is so cute, so was Jodie Foster.

Melissa Etheridge kissed her wife on the mouth and called her "wife" and mentioned their 4 children.

Al Gore stole the show.

Gustavo won for the 2nd year in a row and made reference to that.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY:

Not the first mention of Trash, excuse me, Crash.
