Since you using the word hell,
that is one reason that either a remake, another or a serie, should be made;
because this film is not enough!! It is too much HELL!!
It also remains TOO MUCH violent, and too lacking in many ways, I say!!

I suggest that it could but must be done, if possible!!
Not necessarily be re-done!! Discussion could also make it much better,
as a II, re-make, another, and/or a serie !! And for many reasons!

That does not mean that the first film would not remain a classic!!

There is too much hell in it!! ??

Well, I just used an expression.

I think what we have is perfect.

It had the intended effect.

To "remake" it on a happy basis would turn one of the most tragic love stories of all time, in the English language, into another Hollywood feel good film.

You HAVE to read the short story. I THINK Annie Proulx translated it into French herself, not sure about that. But if she did-- unlike many translations--you will get the original story.

I don't fear it, just see no point in it. The original was a brilliant adaptation of the short story. New material would be simply made up, the hollywood studios would add all sorts of crap and destroy it. What more would be added by remaking the story?

I say that it can be.

Of course, Hollywood could overpower it with crap and destroy it, but they did not the First, since  they refrained from doing it, because it was to them a homosexual story, likely for that only reason!! Could be that Hollywood could turn it into a porno!! ?? I do not want a porno, as I am asking for better or equal to the First!! For example, when you look at twins, each have their own charator and yet are alike!! ?? Right?? A twin movie of BBM could very well be possible!! ??

There3 IS apparently a porno.

It's called Bareback Mountain or something like that, and supposedly has muscular young guys with Big Harmonica's wandering about a mountain in cowboy hats.

I am not asking for a porno.

The movie already has (somewhat) elements of porno... men and woman.

Another reason for remake, another film, and/or a serie would be because the subject of violence to gay men is so strong, that it needs furtherly to be worked on, so to prevent it??
