Well I dont have the ability to do this project, but it was truly one of the
best projects, that has ever been done here on Bettermost...For all the aformentioned reasons...Making everyone be of one mind, and heart at the same point in their day.. All of us who only watched the pictures, also had the feeling.
Being with a friend, in their particular little corner of the world, and watching the sun come up...It was a wonderfully heart warming experience...The pictures, are all spectacular....If the whole world could be of one mind all the time...sigh thanks Jess for thinking of it
A love card to all the participants,,,,,thank you. from the
bottom of my heart...                   janice   :) :) :)

     Beautiful mind

Come on Roland you can do it.
Just go out and click like crazy
I took 47 pictures to get these.

and my temp was -10 Celsius this am.
Cold even for us these mornings.

And don't tell Jess this but when I put on my warm pants this am I neglected to wear my boxers
   - but maybe I get extra credit for that!!  - lol

LOL!! definitely get extra points!  ;)

What a neat experience!!!
I loved it, especially the nap afterwards. lol.

Thank you Jess for starting this.
It was a bit weird to be out skulking around in the mid light, only one snowmobiler passed by and he must have wondered what I was doing.
But I had the same moon sliver as Australia, and saw Jupiter in the morning sky.
and sunrise pics from all over the world taken on the same day
For no better reason than that we wanted to do it.

Next Sunday April 22 is Earth Day.
Why not do something like it again.
Not to get up at 5:30 a.m.
but to photograph something meaningful to us on that day.
 - maybe even something ecological.

Cameron could do the sunset!

Thank you everybody for those wonderful pictures!  It does make me feel like the world is huge and small at the same time.  And it's fascinating to see what you all see when you look out the window or go out your door.  8)

That does it.  I've GOT to get a digital camera!  :P

I thought I saw the Northern Lights in one of those!! Did I??
Sorry to disappoint you, but you didn't. It was just the morning light creating hues and shades of colour in the sky and the whispy thin clouds. We mostly get visible northern lights at night when it's dark and the colours are not nearly that subtle as they are in my sunrise pictures.

How do I know for sure? The clouds in the sky didn't move at all, the way northern lights have a habit of doing. If you want to see the difference, google picture search finds an abundance of northern light images.

These pics were all great, what a fab idea, esp for me as I harldy ever get up early enough to see a sunrise.  Lazy me  ::)

Btw, in the UK we have the saying about sunset with shepherds instead of sailors:

Red sky at night, shepherd's delight
Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning

Like that it's sort of related to BBM!  :)
Old Brokeback got us good and it sure ain't over

In OZ we have shepherds too instead of sailors:

Pink in the morning shepherd's warning
Pink at night, shepherd's delight

What a wonderful treat! Believe it or not I don't have a camera but I'm gonna get one this week so I can take part in the next "project".

Me and sunrise aren't the best of friends but I enjoyed this so much I might have to make an effort to love 6 am.
