Gee, you certainly seem to have a lot of 3 day weekends Chucky.

Australia is reknowned for all of its public holidays.....The saying goes.....someone only has to fart here, and they decalare a holiday

Talking of public holidays here......

On the 2nd Tuesday in November, they have a public holiday in Melbourne, which is the capitol city of the state of Victoria, for the Melbourne Cup horse race.

In fact the whole country shuts down for the five minutes the race is on.

We have 3 day weekends it seems every few months.

January we have Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

February is President's Day

May is Memorial Day

August/September is Labor Day

October is Columbus Day

November is Veteran's Day

Then there are the holidays we're closed, but fall on other days of the week.  those holidays above are always on Monday.

We have New Year's Day in January, July has Independence Day, November is Thanksgiving, and December is Christmas.

Nope.  Catholic Schools are closed half day Thursday and all day Friday, but most business are not closed those days.

My dept. will let us leave early on Friday.
