Happy Valentine's Day!

Today's travel destination is Grenadines, Lesser Antilles.

Tiny Bequia, a whaling station in the days of Moby Dick, maintains its seafaring heritage along with its sunny serenity.  Most of its 5,000 inhabitants are employed as fishermen, sailors, or master boat builders, though these days many work in tourism, hosting those who arrive here before setting off to explore the Grenadine Archipelago.

Sorry for the late appearance today, it was a little busy this morning!  ;D

I slept in today, and then had some work to do, a dentist appointment to get the teeth cleaned, and then lunch with the family to celebrate my brother Chris' bday, my parents' anniversary, St. Val's Day, and my dad's last radiation treatement.  His last appointment went well, and has a clean bill of health.

Well, the temps are going higher here!  We're supposed to be near 60 by end of the week!  :o  The snow should be all gone soon!

And then we'll be ready for the next storm!  ;D

Welcome to Friday!

I have a three day weekend, Monday is President's Day.   ;D  It sure will be nice to sleep in!

Anyone have good plans for the weekend?  Tonight is some shopping, and tomorrow morning and early afternoon I'll be in NYC.  The rest of the weekend is free.


Today's travel destination:


Matobo National Park, Matobo Hills, Zimbabwe


In the bizarre landscape of the Matobo Hills, time and the elements have sculpted chunks fo granite into fanciful shapes and knobby outcrops in a natural rock garden.  Besides bewitching human visitors, the park shelpers wildlife including leopards, cheetahs, and high numbers of black and white rhinos.
