Hiya BetterMost friends.

It's Friday, it's pay day, and it's the "eve" of a three-day weekend!  ;D

I've gotten in early, did my budget and paid my bills, and now it's time to work!  I'm hoping for an early dismissal today for the weekend, so I have to stay on top of everything!  I'm hoping that most of my clients are gone or will leave early, so I should be able to get everything done soon!

Today's travel destination:

Isle of Skye - Scotland

A newish bridge has diluted some of its mystique, but the Isle of Skye remands a land apart in history and fantasy.  Largest of the Inner Hebrides, Skye is renowned for its role as the hideout for an 18th-century Scottish hero, Bonnie Prince Charlie, and landscapes best described as poetic.

I spent a summer night in August 2003 on the Isle of Skye with my Irish beau.  It was the coldest winter I ever knew. :)  Was quite a mournful, but devastatingly beautiful place.  Oddly enough, the proprietors of the lovely inn we stayed at were from my hometown of St. Louis, so we had lots to chat about sitting by the fire sipping brandy after we'd come in from the frigid winds.  I'd live there in a heartbeat if I could.

Have a great weekend, Chucky!

Chuck and Mandy, I passed through the Isle of Skye on my way to the Outer Hebrides to celebrate the summer solstice last year. Didn't get to see much of it, but did stop by the small town of Dornie where three great lochs come together at the entrance to Skye, to visit the famous Eilean Donan Castle:

There was a cute bagpiper playing in the parking lot!!

Then we pressed on to Uig, where we had a reservation on the ferry to Tarbert on the Isle of Lewis:

Hiya BetterMost friends.

Happy
Independence
Day!!!

Went for a 5 mile walk and was feeling healthy.  Got home to discover a BBQ lunch waiting.  LOL

Talk about counter-productive.  :D :D :D

I had no bread or chips, so that was good.  Had a hot dog (no bun), some chickenand some ribs and some beans.

I'll go for a second 5 mile walk once lunch settles.  ;D
