I must admit I read the 7 miles as 7 km and was shocked about half way to realise it was really 11 km. However my walking group goes about 8 km every Tuesday and often up steeper hills.

Wow, go you Brian!

Hiya BetterMost friends.

So here I am, back in my cube.  Friday was a day from Hell here in the office, and I'm hoping that this week will go much smoother and quieter.

I have not abandoned the "Striking Out!" section of my blog, I do have my scores and intend to update them.  However, the past two weeks were really shitty games.  I only broke 100 once on Sunday, and I have no idea why.  It's annoying, to say the least.  I'm trying to put some thought as to what is happening, especially since I was getting into the 140s not long ago with the new ball.

Today's travel destination:

Tikal, El Peten,Guatemala.

The Mayan empire once encompassed Mexico, Belze, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, and Tikal was the most resplendent of all their cities, with an estimated population of 50,000 to 100,000 residents.  Mysteriously abandoned around 900, it is now a national park and archaeological site.

Hiya BetterMost friends.

Made it through Monday!   ;D

Got to work a little earlier than usual, and I'm enjoying the quiet of the moment.   I'm sure it won't last.

Got weekend plans already, I'm going to a friend's house for a small gathering, I'll be baking a dessert to bring.  I found a recipe online for white chocolate brownies that I want to try.

;D

Today's travel destination:

Portillo, Chile.

The upside-down seasons of the Southern Hemisphere make a jaunt down to Portillo, South America's best ski-resort, a great way to escape the heat of July up north and allowing ski-buffs to indulge in year-round bliss.

Heya, Chuck.  This is going to be a hard weekend coming up for all of us, with the 31st and all.  I'm glad you have happy plans.  White chocolate brownies sound yummy.

I agree! And everybody knows white chocolate has absolutely no calories whatsoever. ...  8)  ::)

Don't they though?  I've never heard of them, but they sound good, and I love white chocolate.  ;D

Hiya BetterMost friends.

Happy Hump day!   Countdown to the weekend has begun!

;D

I hope that everyone is doing well!

Today's travel destination:

Chincoteague, Virginia, USA.

Fans of the title pony in the children's book "Misty of Chincoteague" are gathering on Virginia's Eastern Shore today for the celebrated annual roundup when wild horses are herded together to swim across the narrow channel between Chincoteague and Assateague Island.

We lost power here today (the whole town) for about 15 or 20 minutes.  Thankfully, it came back on and we have electricity, A/C and phones again.

Would like to hear more about this. What did you do? Did you start to get the shakes? When the power goes out, it's sort of like a Stephen King novel!!
