Good morning Bettermost Friends!
^^^^^^^^
I'm sure that's how I looked when I got a phone call last night.
I started talking to a guy last week on one of the dating websites. He seemed nice enough. (
) Anyway, I sent him a message on Monday suggesting that perhaps we meet. He thought perhaps a phone call would be better, so I attemted to schedule one. His reply: "I don't plan phone calls, they just happen."
I replied "That's fine, but I'm on a bowling league that meets every Tuesday, so if you happen to call then, I won't pick up."
He called last night and we chatted for about 20 minutes or so. He has a rather "serious" personality, and went on to say that "Intelligence is important to me, I don't like to talk to someone and feel like they don't understand what I'm saying." He then went on to discuss his writing and how he graduated summa cum laude.
Then he springs on me that while he's in real estate now, he once did very physical work when he started his own business years back, and that he's wrecked his back and sometimes has a good amount of pain that he needs to deal with, and that daily backrubs are nice, and he takes meds.
I wanted to say: "I want a partner, not a patient." While I certainly would never walk away from a partner who needed me, to start a relationship with someone who is looking for someone to take care of him is a different matter.
Plus, I don't think I'm up to his conversational requirements.
So, on to the next attempt!
