Here's the Mother of all classical German Christmas compositions: Johann Sebastian Bach's Weihnachtsoratorium (Christmas Oratorio). Cantata 1: Jauchzet, Frohlocket!

This video was apparently filmed in the early 1980s. The music only starts after a minute or so. :)
