Morning all,

Monday morning, beginning of another week. 44 degrees this morning but it is supposed to warm up nicely, with a little bit of a heat wave this week. They were talking about record breaking temps (high 80s) tomorrow and Wednesday. We'll see!

Okay, here I am in Athens.  It hasn't been the best trip so far, starting with a heavy downpour at 6 a.m. that woke me up well before the alarm and reduced my sleeping hours even more... then the nightmarish 2 1/2 hour stop and go trip to Heathrow with my heart in my throat as I wondered if I would even make my flight.  Things improved at that point, with an on time departure and an early arrival and a real gluten free meal including a roll (go B.A.!) and a silly but mildly entertaining movie "Fantastic Four" (eyeroll).  Then things worsened again with a €45 taxi ride (my contact at the company said my taxi ride should be €20 but!!!

I saw this on the way sticking out of the hillside, pointed out by the chatty taxi driver who spoke understandable broken English:
