Do you plan to meet up with some of the Denver area Brokies?


I watched a movie with my husband the other day; 27 Dresses with Katherine Heigl. The Boathouse plays a (small) role in it, and of course I thought of Brokies (and your ballon pictures) when it was mentioned. I was like "OMG, OMG, the Boathouse, I know the Boathouse!" (with me never having been in NYC, lol). And my hubby was like "So what?"   Men!

Anyway, I wish the both of you a great trip!

Thanks, Chrissi!  I'm sure you'll have fun with Leslie and Hannah, too.  Yes, we're planning on having dinner with the Denver Brokies on September 23.  Yeehaw! 

First thing when you get to New York, we're hitting the Boathouse for dinner.

I think I read somewhere that John Ford used to film his Westerns in Monument Valley. Are you going to go to Four Corners? Will you ride the train at Durango?

Yep, we'll try to hit Four Corners after Monument Valley.  Don't know about the train in Durango, but we plan to visit with nakymaton, who lives in those parts.

Morning all...another chilly morning here in Basel with a whopping 6 degrees. Brrr! Yesterday was cold like this but they told me it warmed up over the course of the day. Let's hope it does the same thing today!

I have been getting photos from home of Hannah's packing. She leaves TOMORROW! Wow! Where does the time go???

It is a really lovely morning here,at long last the humidity of the last few days.has gone. The 2 little ones missed the bus today so I drove them to school.No problem as it actually means I can visit my favourite chocolate and cake shop. on the way back home.
I don't make a special trip there, as it is about 20 miles round trip.

Shock,horror it has closed down,not only that there were so many businesses closed down it is scary.I had not been that way for some time and it really was a shock.Florida seems to be dying on its feet.I know our supermarket is over 50% down,but at least we are still keeping going. It was a real eye opener to see al those closed down businesses.

The only ones still doing business seem to be the pawn shops and consignment stores.So anyone in Florida and other states,support your local shops and restaurants.O.K I will get off my high horse now,but it deeply saddened me to see it all.

a lot of smaller shops close down and leave, and the big stuff (wall mart) sticks around forever.
