Where do you live now Souxi? You live in a residential area  in a big town if I remember correctly?

Living in the residential areas in Glasgow is no different...

Therer are concrete blocks in most big towns and cities in the UK - I wouldn't say Glasgow is unusal in that respect. And yes, you're quite right about the part you saw - but not all of Glasgow is a 'dump' I can assure you.....!

To prov my piont... and there my rant will end....!  Here are some examples of inner city life in Glasgow thats just normal life not big cathedrals or anything that are featured in the city bus tours....

Kelda are you reading what I,ve said? I didn,t say ALL of Glasgow is a dump, just the outskirts that I drove through. I,m sure the inner city parts are lovely and judging by the pics I can see they are. Yes I do live in a town but we don,t have huge great blocks of concret that people live in. My town isn,t as big as Glasgow, it,s just diddy compared to Glasogw. :)

Kelda:
heh, I'm just illistrating a point here - you drove through one part of the outskirts of Glasgow..... the pics I posted here, are mostly not of the inner city souxi - they are the outskirts you talk about!

You vehmenently said you would NOT live in Glasgow, not for a m,illion quid, I'm just showing you there are beautiful parts of both the inner city and outskirts.. I'm generally proud of my city!

We brought you John Smeton after all!!!!!

Kelda that is nothing remotely like the outskirts that I drove through. We were on our way to a zoo, does that ring any bells? All we saw as we drove through on this huge dual carriageway were these VAST lumps of concrete that people live in. I,m sure there are some lovely parts  Kelda just not the parts I saw. Who is John Smeaton btw? Never heard of him sorry. Don,t know if you have ever been to London, but if you go up on the train to Liverpool Street you,ll go through Hackney Downs. Dreadful slum area that is. I can,t beleive people live in such places. Not that this has anything to do with the original topic mind you, but, if you go Whitechapel you can go on a Jack the Ripper tour, and visit the actual places where they found the victims!! :o :o And if you go to North London and visit Highgate Cemetery, you can take a guided tour of that too, and visit the old decayed west side, which, according to legend, is supposed to be the worlds most notorious vampire haunt!! :o :o :o :o
I,d love to go on that lol. ;D

Kelda:
*Shock Horror!* You don't know who John Smeaton is!?! He saved the world!!!   One wee brave weegie takes on Al Quadea! He has cult status in Scotland... Callum even has a tshirt thats says 'What would John Smeaton do?'

Oh And Souxi, I think you were probably on the way to Edinburgh Zoo and passed through the Easterhouse area.

Anyway, BACK on topic!!  ;D

Kelda:
Wierdly, there is a programme on BBC Scotland about John Smeaton right now...!

I hadn't realised he won the CNN Heroes award as an everyday superhero... He got his award at the "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" from Hiro from Heroes!

He won the Queens Galantry Award, and also won the Pride of Britain Award....
