Shelter: The "gay surfer movie" (it's so much more!). See it now and discuss it!
Lynne:
Netflix now says SHORT WAIT >:( >:(.
I am just going to buy it. Geez.

It seems to me that teens would love this movie, it's obviously directed at a young crowd. But then again, BUT I"M A CHEERLEADER, another gay teen film, was intially rated NC-17 and ended up with an R after an "offending" fully clothed female masturbation scene was cut. Most American R-rated films are 14A here in Canada. How is it that the country that makes the best porn can be so uptight about sex in movies?

Yes, it is. MPAA in general, still haven't seen SHELTER. >:(.
Oilgun, did you see that we joined BetterMost about the same time? Cool, huh? First week of March. :D

That IS cool! You've been way more active than me though.
As for SHELTER, although a very sweet film it only rates 53% on Rotten Tomatoes. (for what it's worth) I think the film's weaknesses, like the movie-of-the-week type plot, are overshadowed by excellent multi-dimensional performances and the wonderful chemistry between the two leads.

Well-said! :-*
Shakesthecoffecan:
Certainly it has some weeknesses, but considering it was short in a very short period of time on a rediculasly small budget, I think it is amazing.
The main weekness I have now is waiting (still) for my copy.
Lynne, I am thinking of you tonight, meeting C.J. Cox of Latter Days! You go gurl! ;D
